Product description
CAN I TAKE OTHER MIGRAINE MEDICINE WITH EXCEDRIN MIGRAINE?
You should ask your doctor or pharmacist before taking any other drug with Excedrin Migraine. Excedrin Migraine contains an NSAID (aspirin), which may cause severe stomach bleeding. The chance is higher if you take other drugs containing prescription or nonprescription NSAIDs (aspirin, ibuprofen, naproxen, or others). You shouldn’t use Excedrin Migraine with any other drug containing acetaminophen (prescription or nonprescription). If you are not sure whether a drug contains acetaminophen, ask a doctor or pharmacist.3 Medications used to relieve migraine pain typically work best when taken at first signs of a migraine–if you wait too long, the medication may not work as well.4 If you suffer from migraines that don’t respond to OTC medicine, you should talk to your doctor. They may be able to suggest a different treatment strategy.
ISN’T CAFFEINE A MIGRAINE TRIGGER? WHY IS THERE CAFFEINE IN EXCEDRIN MIGRAINE MEDICINE?
Caffeine is often cited as a migraine food trigger, but that’s not the full story. In fact, caffeine can actually help relieve headaches (including migraines) when ingested as part of an OTC headache treatment, as it boosts the effects of pain relievers like aspirin and acetaminophen–making these medicines up to 40% more effective.5 Always read and follow the product label.
